Stefanie Drozd

MSN-APRN
Stefanie Drozd, MSN-APRN, is the founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner of Express Med Spa, a nurse practitioner led medical spa group serving Chicago's south and southwest suburbs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Francis and a Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University, where she qualified as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. She spent more than a decade in hospital oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant, and women's health before founding the practice in May 2020, and she now sets the clinical standards used at all four Express Med Spa clinics.

Stefanie Drozd, MSN-APRN, is the founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner of Express Med Spa. She opened the practice in downtown Frankfort in May 2020 and now sets the clinical standards, treatment protocols, and safety expectations used at all four Express Med Spa clinics: Frankfort, La Grange, Shorewood, and Mount Greenwood (Chicago). She is an organization level clinician rather than a member of any single clinic roster. The aesthetic nurses who see patients day to day work inside the framework she writes and maintains.

Her career did not begin in aesthetics. It began in 2003, in a hospital, as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Palos Hospital while she was still in nursing school. She had started at Northern Illinois University, decided that a large university was not the right fit, and transferred to the University of St. Francis, living at home with her parents and two sisters while she finished. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005 and became a Registered Nurse.

She began her nursing career at Loyola University Medical Center, working primarily in oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant, and women’s health. Those are units where dosing is exact, where a small error is not a small problem, and where a nurse learns to explain difficult information to frightened people without rushing them. While she was there she started graduate school at Loyola University, and in 2010 she graduated as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. She practiced in an outpatient cancer center and rounded at several local hospitals until 2019. Her career now runs to more than 20 years of medical experience, most of it earned in hospital medicine before she ever picked up a syringe for cosmetic work.

In 2019 she went back to school again, this time to train in aesthetics, and it was the change her career needed. She did not want to build a large, luxurious med spa. She wanted a practice a working parent could actually get to, priced and scheduled for real life, run by a nurse practitioner who would rather explain a treatment than sell one. Express Med Spa opened in May 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, and grew into four clinics from there. In her own words, care should not feel clinical. It is personal. It is about trust, listening, and helping people feel confident in their own skin.

Her own treatment work centers on injectables and skin. She performs Xeomin and Botox neurotoxin treatments, lip filler augmentation, microneedling, and microneedling with PRP. Each of those begins with a consultation rather than a syringe: what the patient actually wants to change, what a realistic result looks like on their face, what the treatment can and cannot do, and what it costs to maintain over a year rather than on the day. Her approach is conservative dosing and a willingness to say when the honest answer is to wait, to try something less invasive, or to do nothing at all.

As founder her work now reaches well past her own appointment book. She writes and updates the protocols the network treats by, trains and mentors the aesthetic nurses who join it, and reviews the clinical standards each clinic operates under. A patient seen by another Express Med Spa clinician is still being treated inside a framework she set. That is what founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner means in this practice: she is accountable for how care is delivered across the network, not for filling one clinic’s schedule.

Outside the treatment room she presented at the Medical Spa Show in 2022, the American Med Spa Association national conference, and she is a published children’s book author, writing The Feel-Good Squad series. She lives in downtown Frankfort, walks to the shops and restaurants there, travels most weekends, likes fast cars, bikes with her kids, and owns a Great Dane named Jade.

Express Med Spa serves the Chicago south and southwest suburbs from four clinics: Frankfort, La Grange, Shorewood, and Mount Greenwood (Chicago). It is a suburban practice, not a downtown Chicago one. Stefanie Drozd sets the clinical standards at all four, so the same consultation process, the same dosing discipline, and the same safety protocols apply wherever a patient books. The four clinics share one treatment menu and one set of clinical standards, so a patient can be seen at whichever location fits their week without starting over.

I started my tox journey at the Mount Greenwood location and have had the pleasure of working with both Stefanie and Tami. I first saw Stefanie because I was quite nervous and really wanted to first be seen by the woman who started it all. I wasn’t let down, and you can tell immediately after meeting Stefanie that she is extremely knowledgeable and doesn’t hesitate to give you an informed answer to any questions. I also love that when I showed interest in something new (TMJ) she wasn’t pushy and gave me alternatives to try/habits to break prior to committing to a new treatment. I saw Tami while Stefanie was on vacation, and also received the same knowledge and care. Tami is the sweetest and I loved my results from her as well. Receiving the treatment that I did from both of these women, gives me the confidence to see anyone at Express MedSpa. Thank you guys for your knowledge and for making the MedSpa experience far less intimidating than I thought it would be!

Locations

Where I Practice

Stefanie Drozd does not staff a single clinic. As founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner she sets the clinical standards, treatment protocols, and safety expectations for all four Express Med Spa locations, so each clinic below runs on the same framework rather than on four different ones. The practice began in downtown Frankfort in May 2020 and now operates in Frankfort, La Grange, Shorewood, and Mount Greenwood (Chicago). Each clinic is staffed day to day by its own aesthetic nurses and support team, and at each one the consultation process, the dosing discipline, and the safety checks are the ones she wrote. Her own availability is whatever the Express Med Spa online booking system shows for her, rather than a standing weekly schedule at one address.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Stefanie Drozd?

Stefanie Drozd, MSN-APRN, is the founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner of Express Med Spa. She opened the practice in Frankfort in May 2020 and now sets the clinical standards, treatment protocols, and safety expectations used at all four Express Med Spa clinics: Frankfort, La Grange, Shorewood, and Mount Greenwood (Chicago). Before aesthetics she spent more than a decade in hospital medicine at Loyola University Medical Center, working in oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant, and women's health. She has more than 20 years of medical experience in total, beginning as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2003.

Can I book an appointment with Stefanie Drozd?

Yes. She is accepting new patients, and appointments are requested through the Express Med Spa online booking system, the same booking link used across the whole network. Because she is the founder and works across the network rather than holding a fixed shift at one clinic, her availability is whatever that booking system shows for her rather than a standing weekly schedule published here. If nothing in her calendar suits you, the same booking system lists the aesthetic nurses who treat under the protocols she sets.

Which Express Med Spa location does Stefanie Drozd work at?

She is not assigned to one clinic. As founder she works at the organization level, setting the clinical standards for all four Express Med Spa locations rather than staffing a single roster. The four clinics are Frankfort, La Grange, Shorewood, and Mount Greenwood (Chicago). Each one is staffed day to day by its own aesthetic nurses and support team, and each one runs on the protocols she writes and maintains. When you book with her specifically, the online booking system shows which clinic that appointment is at.

What treatments does Stefanie Drozd perform?

Her own treatment work is injectables and skin: Xeomin, Botox, lip filler augmentation, microneedling, and microneedling with PRP. Express Med Spa as a network offers a much broader menu, including GLP-1 medical weight loss and advanced skin care, delivered by the clinical team at each clinic. This page lists only the treatments she personally performs, which is why the list here is shorter than the full network menu. If you want something she does not personally deliver, the consultation will match you to the clinician who does.

What are Stefanie Drozd's credentials?

She is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse holding a master's degree in nursing. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of St. Francis in 2005 and a Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in 2010, qualifying as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. Her credential is always written Stefanie Drozd, MSN-APRN. She is a nurse practitioner rather than a physician, and Express Med Spa is a nurse practitioner led practice. Her more than 20 years of medical experience began in hospital nursing, not in aesthetics.

If I see a different injector, who oversees my care?

The clinical standards are hers regardless of who holds the syringe. She writes and updates the treatment protocols, dosing guidance, and safety checks that every Express Med Spa clinician works from, and she trains and mentors the aesthetic nurses who join the practice. That is what founder and Lead Nurse Practitioner means here: the framework at all four locations is one she sets and reviews, so the consultation process and the safety protocols are the same whether you see her or a member of her team.

What happens at a consultation with Stefanie Drozd?

It starts with a conversation, not a treatment. A consultation covers what you want to change, what a realistic result looks like on your face, which options can get there, what each one costs to start and to maintain, and what recovery looks like. She will say when the honest answer is to wait, to try something less invasive, or to do nothing at all. One patient describes exactly that: shown interest in a new treatment, she was given alternatives to try first rather than being sold the treatment. If you would rather start with a conversation than book a procedure, request a consultation through the online booking system.

Is Stefanie Drozd accepting new patients?

Yes, she is accepting new patients at Express Med Spa. Appointments, consultations included, are requested through the Express Med Spa online booking system rather than by calling a single clinic. Booking a consultation first is the usual way to start if you are new to injectables or unsure which treatment you want, because it is the visit used to confirm you are a candidate and to build a plan. Individual results vary, and no result is promised at the consultation stage.

Does Stefanie Drozd still treat patients, or does she only run the practice?

She still treats patients. Founding Express Med Spa did not move her out of the treatment room: she performs Xeomin and Botox neurotoxin treatments, lip filler augmentation, microneedling, and microneedling with PRP, and she takes appointments through the same online booking system as the rest of the network. What founding added is the work around the treatment room, writing the protocols, training the aesthetic nurses, and reviewing the clinical standards each clinic runs on. Patients who want to be seen by the founder specifically can request her when they book.
