What Are Trigger Point Injections?

Trigger points are tight bands of muscle that cause pain in localized or referred areas (like the neck, back, or jaw). When physical therapy and massage don’t fully resolve them, Trigger Point Injections (TPIs) can be a fast, effective next step.
A small amount of anesthetic or anti-inflammatory medication is injected directly into the tight muscle, causing it to relax and relieving the associated pain.
