Cheek filler before and after for midface volumizing at Express Med Spa

Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler

Cheek Filler and Midface Volumizing

The cheeks and midface are the structural center of the face. When volume in this area decreases with age, the effects show up everywhere: flatter cheeks, deeper nasolabial folds, a heavier appearance along the jawline, and a face that looks more drawn and tired than it once did. Restoring that volume with a precisely placed hyaluronic acid filler can lift and re-balance the face in a way that looks completely natural. At Express Med Spa, our nurse practitioners approach cheek and midface filler with an emphasis on proportion and subtlety. The goal is not to change your face but to give it back the structure it has gradually lost.

RESULTS TIMELINE

Results are visible immediately following treatment. Full, settled results are typically seen at the two-week mark once initial swelling has completely resolved. Some patients notice the cheeks appear to slightly over-project in the first few days, which is normal and resolves on its own.

Result Last

12 to 18 months on average for the cheek and midface area. The cheeks are a lower-movement zone compared to areas like the lips or mouth, which tends to support longer-lasting results. Individual outcomes vary based on metabolism, volume used, and lifestyle.

BEST FOR

Flat cheeks, Volume loss, Facial aging
  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

    How does cheek filler work?

A hyaluronic acid filler, Revanesse Versa+, is placed over the cheekbone and midface to rebuild the structural volume age takes away. Because the midface supports the whole face, restoring it lifts and refreshes far beyond the cheeks.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

    Which areas does it address?

The cheekbone, the mid-cheek hollow, and the surrounding midface. Because this zone is the face's structural center, treating it also softens nasolabial folds and eases early heaviness along the jawline.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

    What happens during the appointment?

After a proportion-focused consultation and numbing, your nurse practitioner places the filler in a 30 to 60 minute visit. Most patients need one to two syringes depending on volume loss.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Results are visible immediately and fully settle by two weeks. The cheeks are a low-movement zone, so results last 12 to 18 months on average, the longest of any filler area.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

Cheek filler or treating each line separately?

Lines around the mouth and jaw often trace back to midface volume loss. Restoring the cheeks first treats the cause, and any remaining lines can then be refined with far less product.

    About This Treatment

Here is how restoring midface volume lifts and re-balances the whole face, exactly which areas your provider assesses, what the appointment involves, and why treating the cheeks often does more than chasing individual lines.

    Treatment Pricing

Cheek and midface volumizing is one of the more volume-dependent treatments on the menu, so your cost is based on how much product is needed rather than a flat rate. Most patients require one to two syringes depending on the degree of volume loss, facial structure, and whether both cheeks are treated in one visit. Your nurse practitioner will give you a clear volume and cost estimate during your consultation before any treatment begins. Members receive a discounted rate, and monthly payment plans are available through CareCredit and Cherry.

Who Cheek Filler and Midface Volumizing is For

Good Candidates? Is This Right for You?

Cheek filler and midface volumizing is well suited for adults 22 and older who have noticed a flattening of the cheeks, a hollowing of the midface area, or a general loss of the lifted, structured appearance the face had in their younger years. This concern appears most commonly in patients in their mid-thirties and beyond, though some patients experience earlier volume loss due to genetics, significant weight changes, or lifestyle factors.

Good candidates are those who are bothered by one or more of the following: cheeks that appear flat or deflated, nasolabial folds that have deepened as a result of midface descent, a tired or drawn appearance that is not addressed by skincare alone, or a general sense that the face has lost its youthful contour without a single specific cause they can point to. Restoring volume to the midface can improve the appearance of all of these concerns simultaneously, which is why it is often described as one of the highest-impact areas to treat.

This treatment is not a substitute for surgical intervention in cases of significant skin laxity or structural bone loss. Your nurse practitioner will assess your anatomy honestly during your consultation and discuss whether filler, a combination approach, or a referral is the most appropriate path.

I had a truly exceptional experience at Express Med Spa Lagrange. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, clean, and calming which was a perfect reflection of the professionalism and care that followed. The entire staff at Express Med Spa is overwhelmingly friendly and welcoming. Addy welcomes you with a fresh face and positive attitude every time I come. She even remembers the little things I tell her, which makes me feel appreciated. There’s a genuine warmth that radiates from her creating an environment that feels both professional and personal which I feel is a rare and valuable combination in the med spa space.I received both neurotoxin and filler treatments from nurse Angelika, and I cannot speak highly enough of her expertise. She took the time to listen to my concerns, clearly explained each step of the process, and delivered results that were both natural and beautifully tailored to my features. Her skill, precision, and calm demeanor immediately put me at ease and made the entire experience comfortable and reassuring. I voiced my concerns regarding my skin and was referred over to the esthetician Kaitlin who completed a complimentary skin analysis and educated me on my skin and needs. She then recommended a custom facial which was adapted to my skins texture and demands. It was truly relaxing and transformative. I am now coming in monthly to keep up with it!If you're looking for a med spa where expertise meets hospitality, I highly recommend Express Med Spa Lagrange. They’ve earned my trust and future business without question.

“I am recently new to Botox and fillers. I had no idea what was what. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to have all my procedures done by a RN , her name is Kristina. She explained everything to me, made me feel so comfortable and was very patient with all my decisions. I love how she gives me suggestions but lets me decide at the end. Kristina will never push you to have anything done that you do not want done. All her knowledge is great and her services are even greater. Ive been there 4 times in 8 weeks , I’ll be back in two more weeks for sure!! I love this place! Thanks Express Med Spa !! Kim J”

      What To Expect

      Pre & Post Treatment Care

      Pre-Care Instructions
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 48 to 72 hours before your appointment if medically safe to do so. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol. Do not stop any prescription medication without consulting your prescribing physician first.
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
Arrive with clean skin. Remove all makeup, skincare products, and topical treatments from the treatment area before your appointment.
Stay well hydrated and eat a light meal before your visit to reduce the chance of lightheadedness during treatment.
Do not schedule this filler treatment within 4 weeks of laser resurfacing, intense pulsed light, chemical peel, or dermabrasion in the same area.
Inform your provider of all current medications, supplements, recent dental procedures, and any changes to your health since your last visit.
If you have a history of cold sores or oral herpes simplex virus, disclose this before booking any lip or perioral filler treatment. Your provider may recommend a short course of antiviral medication before your appointment as a precaution.

      Post-Care Instructions

Do not rub, massage, or apply any pressure to the treated cheek and midface area for at least 24 hours following treatment.
Avoid strenuous exercise and activities that significantly elevate your heart rate for 24 hours after your appointment.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment.
Avoid sleeping face-down on the night of your treatment. Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated if possible. The cheek area can hold swelling slightly longer than other treatment zones, and pressure while sleeping can affect product placement.
Avoid significant heat exposure for 24 to 48 hours following treatment, including saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, and prolonged sun exposure.
Mild swelling is expected and most noticeable in the first one to three days. Some patients notice mild fullness in the cheek area for up to a week before the product fully settles. This is normal. A cold compress applied gently to the area can help reduce swelling, do not press or massage.
Do not schedule laser treatments, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, or dermabrasion in the treated area for at least 4 weeks post-treatment.
Allow a full two weeks before evaluating your result. Initial swelling in the cheek area may make the result appear more projected than the final settled outcome.
Contact Express Med Spa immediately if you experience prolonged swelling beyond one week, changes in skin color, skin blanching or mottling, severe pain, or any symptoms that concern you.

      • How Cheek and Midface Filler Works

The cheeks and midface are the structural center of the face, and they are usually where age-related volume loss begins. As that support deflates, the effects cascade: cheeks flatten, nasolabial folds deepen, and the lower face takes on a heavier, more tired look.

Cheek filler rebuilds that support. A hyaluronic acid gel, Revanesse Versa+, is placed at precise points over the cheekbone and midface to restore the projection and lift the area has lost. Because the product integrates with your tissue, the result is structural rather than superficial: your face gets its architecture back.

      • The Areas Your Provider Assesses

Cheek and midface volumizing is really three zones planned together: the cheekbone itself, where projection creates light and definition; the mid-cheek, where hollowing reads as fatigue; and the transition into the lower face, where lost support shows up as deepening folds and early jawline heaviness.

Your nurse practitioner assesses all three, plus how your midface relates to areas like the nasolabial folds and pre-jowl area, and places product where it restores your proportions. The goal is never to change your face, only to give back the structure it has gradually lost.

      • What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your visit starts with a consultation built around proportion: your provider studies your facial structure from multiple angles and gives you a clear volume and cost estimate before any treatment begins. Most patients need one to two syringes depending on the degree of volume loss and whether both cheeks are treated in one visit.

After numbing, placement takes the balance of a 30 to 60 minute appointment. Downtime is minimal, with possible mild swelling or bruising. Some patients notice the cheeks look slightly over-projected in the first few days; that is normal settling and resolves on its own.

      • Results and Longevity

The lift is visible immediately, and the fully settled result arrives at about two weeks once any swelling has resolved. Patients typically describe the change as looking rested and lifted rather than done, because the correction happens at the structural level rather than on the surface.

Cheek filler is also the longest-lasting filler treatment on the menu: 12 to 18 months on average, because the cheeks are a low-movement zone compared to the lips or mouth area. Individual longevity varies with metabolism, volume used, and lifestyle, but a once-a-year check-in is a typical maintenance rhythm.

      • Treating the Cause vs. Chasing Individual Lines

Many of the lines that bother patients, deepening nasolabial folds, early marionette lines, a heavier jawline, are downstream symptoms of midface volume loss. Filling each line individually can help, but it treats the effect while the cause keeps progressing.

Restoring the midface first often softens those downstream lines automatically, and any remaining creases can then be refined with far less product. That is why our nurse practitioners frequently recommend the cheeks as the starting point in a multi-area plan. Your consultation will map the sequence that gets you the most natural result for your budget.
