    How does Radiesse work?

Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a smooth gel. The gel lifts and fills immediately, and the microspheres then act as a scaffold that stimulates your own collagen for firmer, more supported skin over time.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

    What areas can Radiesse treat?

At Express Med Spa we use Radiesse for nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheek and midface volume, the chin, and jowl and jawline contouring. Hand rejuvenation, neck and decollete, cellulite, and non surgical BBL are offered as separate Radiesse services.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

    What happens at my appointment?

Your injector reviews your goals, maps the treatment plan, cleanses the skin, and places the filler. Most facial visits take 30 to 60 minutes, and you choose a full syringe ($699) or a Mini Radiesse half syringe ($379) based on your plan.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

When will I see results, and how long do they last?

Volume improves immediately, and skin keeps improving as collagen builds over the following weeks. Results commonly last 12 to 18 months depending on the area treated.

Radiesse vs other fillers: what does Express Med Spa offer?

Hyaluronic acid fillers add soft volume and can be dissolved; Radiesse adds structure, stimulates collagen, and cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Radiesse is the collagen stimulating filler we carry. We do not offer Sculptra.

    Who Radiesse Filler is For

Good Candidates? Is This Right for You?

    Concerns Radiesse Addresses

    • Volume loss in the cheeks and midface
    • Deep nasolabial folds and marionette lines
    • Jowling and loss of jawline definition
    • Hollows in the chin and pre-jowl area
    • Skin that has lost firmness and structural support with age

Who Is a Good Candidate for Radiesse?

Radiesse works best for adults who have noticeable volume loss or deep folds and want results that last longer than a typical hyaluronic acid filler. It is a strong fit if your goal is lift, structure, and definition, especially in the lower face, and you are comfortable choosing a filler that is not instantly reversible in exchange for that durability. The facial indication is approved for adults 22 and older.

Radiesse may not be the right choice if you mainly want soft volume in the lips or under the eyes, if you prefer a filler that can be dissolved, or if you have certain allergies or medical conditions. In those cases our injectors will recommend an alternative, such as a hyaluronic acid filler, during your consultation.

    Safety Overview

Radiesse is FDA approved for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and it has been used in aesthetic medicine for nearly two decades. At Express Med Spa, every Radiesse treatment is performed by a licensed nurse practitioner or registered nurse. We do not place Radiesse in the lips or around the eyes, where its safety has not been established. Because Radiesse cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase, your consultation includes an honest conversation about whether it is the right product for your goals before anything is injected. Tell your provider about any allergies, medications, bleeding disorders, or history of severe allergic reactions so we can plan the safest treatment for you.

What Clients Say About Radiesse Filler

    • Katie
I had such a great experience at this med spa! It was my first time getting any cosmetic treatments done and I was honestly very nervous going in. I had forehead tox and jawline filler done. Kristinia made the entire experience so comfortable from start to finish. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions and made me feel completely at ease. I truly appreciated how knowledgeable and reassuring she was throughout the process. I’m so happy with my results and would definitely recommend coming here!

    • Kristina reached out to me on a Facebook group about a promotion they were doing. Once I got there everything was super smooth, quick and easy. I got filler in my jaw annd a small amount in my chin and it looks amazing. I asked for the before and after because it’s such an insane difference and I wanted to show my family. I will definitely come back at some point. Ask for Kristina she’s so sweet and kind. She made my first experience at a med spa super easy. ‍↔️

      • How Radiesse Works: Calcium Hydroxylapatite and Collagen

Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler made of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a smooth gel carrier. CaHA is a mineral compound found naturally in bone, which is part of why Radiesse behaves differently from the hyaluronic acid fillers most people research first. It is FDA approved for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds.

The treatment works in two stages. First, the gel carrier provides immediate volume and lift, so you see a visible improvement before you leave your appointment. Then, over the following weeks, the CaHA microspheres act as a scaffold that stimulates your body’s own collagen production. As the gel is gradually absorbed, your own collagen takes over the structural work, which is why Radiesse is often called a collagen stimulating filler or biostimulator rather than a simple filler.

That dual action, immediate lift plus longer term collagen support, is what makes Radiesse the workhorse we reach for when a patient wants structure and definition rather than soft plumping alone. For a deeper look at the science, read our full guide to what Radiesse is and how it works.

      • Radiesse Treatment Areas at Express Med Spa

On the face, we place full strength Radiesse where lift and structural support matter most:

        • Nasolabial folds – the deep lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth, the area Radiesse is best known for
        • Marionette lines – the lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth
        • Cheeks and midface – restoring volume where age related fat loss flattens the cheek
        • Chin and pre-jowl area – filling the hollows that form beside the chin
        • Jowls and jawline contouring – supporting and defining the jaw and jowl line for a firmer looking lower face

There are also areas where we do not place Radiesse. Its safety in the lips and around the eyes has not been established, so we treat lips with hyaluronic acid products instead; see our lip filler augmentation page for that option.

Beyond the face, Express Med Spa offers Radiesse based services for hand rejuvenation, neck and decollete rejuvenation (covered in our Radiesse decollete guide), cellulite reduction, and the non surgical Brazilian butt lift and hip dip treatment. Each is a separate service with its own pricing and plan, so the best next step for those areas is to book a consultation and talk through your goals with an injector.

      • What to Expect at Your Radiesse Appointment

Every Radiesse visit starts with a conversation. Your injector reviews your medical history, looks at how your face has changed, and maps out where filler will make the biggest difference. Because Radiesse is not easily reversible, we take this planning step seriously and will tell you honestly if a different treatment fits your goals better.

        The treatment itself is straightforward:

        • We cleanse the treatment area and can apply a topical numbing cream for comfort.
        • Your injector places the filler with a fine needle or cannula, shaping and checking symmetry as they work.
        • Most facial appointments take about 30 to 60 minutes from start to finish.
        • You will see added volume immediately, and you can return to most normal activities the same day.

Dosing is flexible. A full syringe of Radiesse is $699, and the $379 Mini Radiesse half syringe is a smaller dose option for patients who need a lighter touch or want to try Radiesse in one area first. Your injector will recommend the amount that fits your anatomy and budget; our guide to Radiesse filler cost breaks down how pricing works in more detail.

      • Radiesse Results and How Long They Last

Radiesse results arrive in two waves. The first is immediate: the gel carrier restores volume and smooths folds the moment it is placed, so you walk out with a visible change. The second builds quietly over the following weeks as the CaHA microspheres stimulate collagen, gradually improving firmness and structure in the treated area even as the gel itself is absorbed.

Results commonly last 12 to 18 months, with the exact duration depending on the area treated, how much product was used, and how quickly your body metabolizes the filler. Areas with less movement, like the cheeks and midface, tend to hold results the longest, while higher movement areas may soften sooner. Many patients schedule a maintenance session as their results begin to fade to keep their look consistent.

Good habits extend results too: daily sunscreen, staying hydrated, and not smoking all support the collagen Radiesse helps you build. For a full breakdown by area, read how long Radiesse filler lasts.

      • Radiesse vs Sculptra, Juvederm, and Other Fillers

If you are comparing filler options, here is the honest landscape:

Radiesse vs hyaluronic acid fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Revanesse). HA fillers are soft, flexible gels that add volume and hydration, and they can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if you change your mind. Radiesse is thicker and more structural, and it stimulates collagen, but it cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase. In practice we use HA fillers for softer areas like the lips and Radiesse where lift and definition matter, and the two can work together in one plan. Express Med Spa carries the Revanesse line for hyaluronic acid needs. Our Radiesse vs Juvederm and Radiesse vs fillers guides go deeper on the differences.

Radiesse vs Sculptra. Both are collagen biostimulators, but they work on different timelines. Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid and builds volume gradually over a series of sessions, with no immediate lift. Radiesse gives you immediate volume plus the collagen benefit from a single product. Express Med Spa offers Radiesse, not Sculptra; if you have been researching Sculptra, a Radiesse consultation is the closest fit here, and our Radiesse vs Sculptra comparison lays out both sides fairly.

On reversibility. Because Radiesse cannot be dissolved the way HA fillers can, choosing an experienced injector matters more, and so does understanding your options up front. Read can Radiesse be dissolved for the full picture, and see our filler dissolving page for what is and is not reversible.
