Aqua Facial

Aqua Facial combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration in a resurfacing facial. The provider chooses the treatment intensity and serum blend for your skin and goals.

Temporary redness, sensitivity or irritation may occur. Response and recovery vary, and treatment may need to be adjusted or postponed for sensitive or recently treated skin.

The face is the standard AquaFacial treatment area, and your provider can extend the treatment to the neck and decolletage when you want a more complete result. The step that makes the treatment adaptable is the serum selection: rather than a single fixed product line, your nurse practitioner chooses medical-grade serums based on a brief skin assessment at the time of your visit.

That customization is why the AquaFacial works across such a wide range of skin, from oily and acne-prone to dry and mature, and why the handpiece pressure and serum blend can be adjusted for more sensitive or reactive skin.

Every AquaFacial at Express Med Spa begins with a short skin consultation with one of our nurse practitioners, who customizes the serum selection to your skin concerns and current condition. Your provider then works through the cleanse, exfoliate, extract, and hydrate steps over roughly 45 to 60 minutes.

Most patients describe the sensation as a light suction, similar to a gentle vacuum moving across the skin, with a mild tingle during exfoliation. There is no numbing required and recovery that varies by patient afterward, so you can return to your day right away.

Changes in hydration and skin appearance differ from person to person. Discuss your goals, current skin condition and expectations before treatment.

Your provider recommends follow-up according to your response and skin needs. If you are planning treatment before an event, ask about the timing and allow for possible redness or sensitivity.

The AquaFacial and the HydraFacial are closely related: both use a vortex-based tip that cleanses and infuses the skin at the same time. The difference at Express Med Spa is customization. Our AquaFacial protocol uses medical-grade serums your provider selects for your skin at the time of your visit, rather than a fixed, one-size product line.

Compared with a traditional spa facial, the AquaFacial is more of a medical-grade resurfacing treatment: it exfoliates and extracts more effectively and delivers immediate, measurable hydration, while still being gentle enough for sensitive and post-procedure skin when performed by a trained provider.
