Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler

Nasolabial Fold Filler

Those lines that run from the sides of your nose down to the corners of your mouth are called nasolabial folds, or smile lines. They deepen over time as the face loses volume and the skin loses collagen. If yours are making you look more tired or older than you feel, a hyaluronic acid filler can soften them noticeably in a single visit. At Express Med Spa, our nurse practitioners use a precision-placed filler to restore volume where it has been lost, leaving you with a smoother, more rested result that still looks and moves like you.

Smile lines, Lost volume, Tired appearance
  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

How does nasolabial fold filler work?

A hyaluronic acid filler, Revanesse Versa+, is placed precisely beneath the fold to restore the volume the area has lost. The line softens immediately while your face keeps its natural movement and expression.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

Where exactly is the filler placed?

The treatment targets the folds running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Most patients are treated with one syringe; deeper folds or midface volume loss may call for more.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

    What happens during the appointment?

After a consultation and numbing, your nurse practitioner places the filler in a 30 to 45 minute visit. Downtime is minimal, with possible mild swelling or bruising for a few days.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

When will I see results, and how long do they last?

The improvement is visible immediately, with the fully settled result at about two weeks. Results last 9 to 12 months on average in this moderately mobile area of the face.

  • Stefanie Drozd, Full Practice Authority Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetic and wellness treatments

Treat the fold, or treat the cheeks?

When folds are driven by midface volume loss, cheek filler can lift the area and soften the folds at their source. Your provider assesses both and recommends the approach, sometimes a combination, that fits your anatomy.

    About This Treatment

Here is why smile lines deepen over time, exactly where filler goes to soften them, what the single-visit appointment is like, and when treating the cheeks instead gives a better answer.

    Treatment Pricing

Price shown is per syringe. Most patients treating nasolabial folds use one syringe. Some patients may benefit from also addressing the midface area to achieve the best correction, which may require a second syringe. Your provider will give you a personalized recommendation during your consultation. A half-syringe option may be available for mild cases.

Who Nasolabial Fold Filler is For

Good Candidates? Is This Right for You?

Nasolabial fold filler is well suited for adults 22 years and older who have noticeable lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth and want a softer, more refreshed appearance without surgery or extended recovery time. It is a good fit whether the folds have developed gradually with age, appeared after weight loss, or have simply always been a feature of your facial anatomy.

Patients with mild to moderate folds often see a significant improvement with one syringe. Those with deeper folds, or who want to address the midface at the same time, may benefit from additional volume. Your nurse practitioner will evaluate your anatomy during your consultation and recommend the right approach for your goals.

This treatment is not recommended as a substitute for surgical correction in cases of significant skin laxity. Your provider will discuss all appropriate options during your visit.

What Clients Say About Nasolabial Fold Filler

    • M. Lizzett Cahue
I spontaneously was looking to book an appt for Botox. I couldn’t find the right place and had so many options. I was referred here by almost all group of moms in my area on a moms page and they all great things to say about Kristina. They tagged her and she reached out to me and answered all my questions. I booked right away the next day. I was so nervous going to my appt but Kristina made me feel really comfortable. I had my Botox done and I had a great experience. Days later I convinced my husband to get prp done for hair growth. He too had a great experience . We love Kristina so much and already booked our next session with Kristina S. We recommend her and this place you won’t be disappointedAlso Aubree is super nice at front desk and welcoming. She quick and makes sure to be in and out. Love this placeI will be back for some lip fillers

“Kristina out of the Shorewood location is amazing! She listened to what I wanted, what I had done before and explained the difference between Botox and fillers. She did not try to get me to get more than what I needed and I appreciated that! If you are interested in Botox, or something else, definitely set up a consultation with her!”

Kristinia made the entire experience so comfortable from start to finish. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly, answered all of my questions and made me feel completely at ease. I truly appreciated how knowledgeable and reassuring she was throughout the process. I’m so happy with my results and would definitely recommend coming here!

      What To Expect

      Pre & Post Treatment Care

      Pre-Care Instructions
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 48 to 72 hours before your appointment if medically safe to do so. This includes aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol. Do not stop any prescription medication without consulting your prescribing physician first.
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
Arrive with clean skin. Remove all makeup, skincare products, and topical treatments from the treatment area before your appointment.
Stay well hydrated and eat a light meal before your visit to reduce the chance of lightheadedness during treatment.
Do not schedule this filler treatment within 4 weeks of laser resurfacing, intense pulsed light, chemical peel, or dermabrasion in the same area.
Inform your provider of all current medications, supplements, recent dental procedures, and any changes to your health since your last visit.
If you have a history of cold sores or oral herpes simplex virus, disclose this before booking any lip or perioral filler treatment. Your provider may recommend a short course of antiviral medication before your appointment as a precaution.

      Post-Care Instructions

Do not rub, massage, or apply any pressure to the treated area for at least 24 hours following treatment. This includes facial massage, beauty tools, and direct manual contact.
Avoid strenuous exercise and activities that significantly elevate your heart rate for 24 hours after your appointment.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment to minimize bruising and swelling.
Avoid sleeping face-down on the night of your treatment. Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated if possible to reduce swelling.
Avoid significant heat exposure for 24 to 48 hours following treatment. This includes saunas, steam rooms, hot showers, hot tubs, and prolonged direct sun exposure.
Mild swelling and bruising are normal and expected. A cold compress applied gently to the area can help reduce swelling, do not press or massage.
Do not schedule laser treatments, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, or dermabrasion in the treated area for at least 4 weeks post-treatment.
Allow a full two weeks before evaluating your final result. Initial swelling can make the result appear different from the fully settled outcome.
Contact Express Med Spa immediately if you experience prolonged swelling beyond one week, changes in skin color, skin blanching or mottling, severe pain, significant asymmetry, or any symptoms that concern you.

      • How Nasolabial Fold Filler Works

Nasolabial folds, the lines running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth, deepen as the face loses volume and the skin loses collagen. What was once a soft crease that appeared only when you smiled becomes a resting line that reads as tired or stern.

Filler treats this directly: a hyaluronic acid gel, Revanesse Versa+, is placed precisely beneath the fold to restore the structural volume the area has lost. The line softens immediately, and because hyaluronic acid integrates with your tissue and holds water, the result looks and moves like you, not like a correction.

      • Where the Filler Goes and How Much You Need

Placement is the craft here. Your nurse practitioner maps the depth and length of each fold and places small, precise amounts of product along it, supporting the crease from underneath rather than simply inflating the area. Treating both sides evenly keeps your smile symmetrical and natural.

Most patients treating nasolabial folds use one syringe. Deeper folds, or folds driven substantially by midface volume loss, may benefit from additional product or from addressing the cheek area in the same plan; a half-syringe option may be available for mild cases. You will get a specific volume and cost recommendation at your consultation before anything begins.

      • What to Expect at Your Appointment

The visit begins with a consultation where your nurse practitioner evaluates your folds, your midface, and how the two relate, then walks you through the recommended plan. A topical numbing cream is applied, and Revanesse Versa+ includes a built-in anesthetic for comfort during placement.

The full appointment typically runs 30 to 45 minutes. Downtime is minimal: you may see mild swelling, redness, or a small bruise near the injection points for a few days, but most patients return to their normal routine immediately.

      • Results and Longevity

The softening is visible the moment you sit up, and the result refines over the following days as any swelling resolves. The fully settled outcome, the one to judge, arrives at about the two-week mark.

Results last 9 to 12 months on average. The nasolabial area moves every time you speak and smile, so filler here metabolizes at a moderate pace, faster than the cheeks but slower than the lips. Most patients simply refresh once a year to maintain the result.

      • Nasolabial Filler vs. Cheek Filler: Treating the Line or the Cause

Not every smile line should be treated at the fold itself. When nasolabial folds are driven primarily by midface volume loss, the descending cheek pushes tissue against the fold from above, and cheek filler and midface volumizing can lift the area and soften the folds at their source, often with a more youthful overall effect.

Many patients get the best result from a combination: structural support in the cheeks plus a precise touch of filler in the fold itself. Your nurse practitioner assesses both zones at your consultation and will tell you plainly which approach, or blend, fits your anatomy and budget.
