Who Underarm Botox for Excessive Sweating (Axillary Hyperhidrosis) is For
Good Candidates? Is This Right for You?
Who Is a Good Candidate for Underarm Botox?
Underarm Botox is a strong option for adults whose excessive underarm sweating is not controlled by regular or clinical-strength antiperspirants. If you change shirts during the day, deal with visible sweat marks and staining, or find that sweating affects your work, wardrobe, or confidence, you may be a good candidate. It is best suited to primary axillary hyperhidrosis, meaning underarm sweating that is not caused by another medical condition or medication.
Botox is a temporary treatment, so it is a good match if you are comfortable repeating it every 4 to 6 months to maintain results. Your nurse practitioner confirms your candidacy at a free consultation.
Concerns Underarm Botox Addresses
- Sweat soaking through shirts regardless of antiperspirant use
- Visible underarm sweat marks and clothing stains
- Self-consciousness about raising your arms or sweating in social and work settings
- Antiperspirants that irritate the skin or stop working
- Restricting clothing choices or colors to hide sweating
- Severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis that has not responded to topical treatment
Safety Overview
Botox has a long, established safety record and has been FDA-approved for severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis since 2004. At Express Med Spa, all injections are performed by licensed nurse practitioners and registered nurses with injectable training, and are never delegated to unlicensed staff.
Please share your full medical history, current medications, and supplements at your consultation. If your sweating came on suddenly, occurs mostly at night, or affects your whole body, it may be secondary hyperhidrosis linked to another cause, which should be evaluated before treatment. Some conditions and medications require closer review before Botox can be safely administered.
