There’s three things in your skincare regimen that you can do if you’re just trying to do the day-to-day grind of making sure that your skincare is in line with your neurotoxin. I’m Stefanie Drozd. I’m the medical director and nurse practitioner at Express Med Spas.

If you’re going to spend the money and time on neurotoxin injectables, you have to remember what the neurotoxin does. Neurotoxin is not magic eraser. It’s not going to erase the lines on your skin. It’s going to stop the contraction of the muscle that’s making the lines. So what we have to think about is: when we stop that, the skin on top is going to look smoother. But if we’re not taking care of our skin on top, then we’re never going to have our optimal result from our neurotoxins.

The first thing is SPF. The sun is the number one cause of sunspots and wrinkles. And so making sure that you have a daily moisturizer with an SPF of 30 or higher is going to help prevent wrinkles.

Number two is going to be retinol. And retinol, its job is to produce more collagen, elastin, and cell turnover.

The third thing that I recommend that you do is an exfoliator. And the exfoliator is going to help to remove those dead skin cells on the face to help the new skin come through faster and brighter.
