What the Video Covers

• Good candidates: people with darker, coarser hair in the area they want treated.
• Poor candidates: light hair, including blonde, white, and gray, because there is little or no pigment in the hair for the laser to find.
• Why it matters: the laser targets pigment, so without it the treatment will not work.

Hair color is the first thing we check, but it is not the only one. Red hair also carries too little of the right pigment for a laser to target reliably. Skin tone changes how the settings are chosen, and a fresh tan, a sunburn, recent self-tanner, pregnancy, or recent isotretinoin use means waiting. If your hair is too light for laser, electrolysis is the hair removal method that does not depend on pigment. But someone that has more light hair, blonde, white, gray, anything like that, you cannot get laser hair removal done just because there’s no pigment in that hair. So, it will not work.
