Platysmal Bands: A Nonsurgical Neck Lift With Botox and Xeomin

Platysmal bands are the vertical cords that pull down on the lower face and neck as the platysma muscle becomes more active with age. So the platysmal bands are a very common area of treatment. It’s basically these four bands that pull down on the face, kind of creating a sagging motion.

What we do is we inject directly into these bands, 10 units per band, so we’re at a total of 40 units. And that relaxes that muscle and lifts the face up, kind of creating more of a contoured look.

So it’s a very nice and easy treatment for patients who want a little bit of a lift.

Typically, on label, results last about 3 to 4 months. Of course, lifestyle, metabolism, all of that play an effect.
