How Long Does Radiesse Last? Results and Follow-Up

How long does Radiesse last? The manufacturer reports that results have been shown to last up to two years, but that does not predict your result or apply equally to every area and treatment plan. Ask which evidence fits the exact product, treatment area and goal being discussed. A follow-up assessment is more useful than choosing a repeat-injection date from a headline.

Immediate fullness and longer-term change are different

Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite, or CaHA, injectable. The manufacturer’s current FAQ describes initial volume correction alongside collagen-related changes over time. Early swelling can also affect what you see. The appearance immediately after an appointment is not a reliable measure of the settled result or how long it will last.

At consultation, separate three questions: what improvement is intended, when the clinician wants to assess it, and what would justify further treatment. Take your previous filler records if you have them. Product name, treatment area and treatment date help the next clinician understand what is already present.

Does Radiesse last the same amount of time everywhere?

No single duration should be assumed for every use. The manufacturer’s information distinguishes Radiesse and Radiesse (+), facial wrinkles and folds, the backs of the hands and other specifically labeled uses. Radiesse (+) has a jawline-contour indication in adults over 21. A facial-duration statement should not automatically become a promise for hands, jawline or another area.

Ask whether the proposed use is within the product’s labeling, what evidence supports it and how the clinician will assess the response. Radiesse is not a lip-filler substitute: the manufacturer’s safety information says safety and effectiveness in the lips and around the eyes are not established.

When should you consider another treatment?

Arrange the follow-up recommended by your treating clinician. A useful review considers the settled appearance, your original goal, any symptoms and your existing treatment history. You do not have to add filler simply because a year has passed. Equally, a visible change does not prove that every trace of material is gone.

Bring specific observations rather than asking for an automatic top-up. You might ask whether a concern is volume loss, skin texture or muscle movement, and whether adding more filler would address it. Our Radiesse vs Sculptra guide explains why different collagen-stimulating injectables should not be treated as interchangeable.

Longevity is only one part of the decision

A longer-lasting result is not automatically the better choice. Radiesse is not a hyaluronic acid filler, so do not assume that the same dissolving approach used for some HA fillers will reverse it. Ask about management options before treatment, including what the clinician would do if you disliked the appearance or developed a complication.

The FDA explains filler risks, including infection and rare blood-vessel complications that can cause serious injury. Unusual pain or concerning skin-color changes require immediate clinical assessment. Call 911 for vision changes or stroke symptoms. Delayed lumps, swelling or other persistent changes also deserve clinical evaluation.

Radiesse duration FAQs

Does Radiesse always last two years?

No. The manufacturer’s up-to-two-year statement describes reported results, not a guaranteed duration for an individual or every treatment area.

Should I repeat Radiesse every year?

There is no automatic schedule for everyone. Ask your clinician to assess the existing result, your goals and whether further treatment is appropriate.

Can Radiesse still be present after the effect looks smaller?

Appearance alone cannot establish complete disappearance. Tell any future treating clinician what product you received, where it was placed and when.

Discuss your goals locally

Express Med Spa is nurse-practitioner-led. Visit the Frankfort clinic page or Shorewood clinic page and ask about a consultation. Confirm current product availability and the proposed use at your chosen location. Your assessment should cover benefits, alternatives and risks, not duration alone.
